On come on now. Let’s not stretch the truth here. John Mackey certainly did not try to “block” health care reform. What he did was put forth ideas for health care reform that are different from the left. What pissed the Liberals off is that they don’t really want a conversation that encourages ideas for health care reform, they just want everyone to shut up and accept their way.
Correct, halcyon. Whole Foods has been on the downward trend since Oct of 2006, for the record. Before health care was in the media or Congress. They actually provide great health care to nearly all their employees. I personally know 3 people that have worked at Whole Foods for many years…they love their jobs, their company, everything it values. Some of his ideas on health care reform were not off the mark either.
Their issues regarding stock price and earning is based on the overall economy more than anything else. Its considerably more expensive to shop there, especially in regard to produce. But those fortunate enough to have one in their town understands the quality of goods that can be purchased there. But people are hurting right now and many are forced to go to other grocery stores.
Whole foods believes in fair trade with their suppliers as well as operating their company in environmentally friendly ways. And let’s not forget…they also promote healthy eating. Organic food, whole grains, few to no preservatives. All of which makes people healthier and need less health care. To throw a company like this under the bus because they don’t just lap up all of Washington’s bullshit is not right. But this is what I have become accustomed to seeing. People who don’t understand situations making unjustified remarks. the left and their supports are so great at calling out Fox news and the right on it…you’d think they would be smart enough to not practice what they preach against, but I guess that’s wishful thinking. Until that changes…I’m still keeping out of politics.
