With A Shout

I remember meeting Tim when I was a page at NBC and he was an executive and not yet on air. Someone had kindly arranged for me to talk to him. His opening line was, “have you been bitten by the news bug yet?” After that, over the years, he seemed genuinely curious about what I was doing, even though I never worked with him directly. At one point, we compared stories about how long we had both been here and he said, “NBC has been good to you and me.” I was laughing to myself that he put my career and his career in the same sentence. He was never condescending - always treating others as equals. When we started iCue, Tim was one of our biggest supporters. You could not fake the light in his eyes and his good will. As I have watched all the tributes to Tim, I have only become more and more impressed by him. I didn’t know that his personal accomplishments matched his professional ones.
